Digital Navigators Ltd, Waikato-Tainui, Google Earth Outreach, Meta Maori, Te Kereru Associates, LINZ, the Firelight Group and Te Papa National Services Te Paerangi welcome iwi and Indigenous mapping practitioners to Kirikiriroa (Hamilton), New Zealand to participate in the 4th Annual Indigenous Mapping Waananga which will be held at Claudelands Event Centre from 16 – 18 May 2017.
The three-day event will explore Google, Esri, and free open source geospatial tools. As a participant, you will learn about these tools to collect, host, visualize, share and publish data. You will also hear first-hand how iwi and indigenous communities are using these tools to realise their own aspirations and meet experts and communities working on projects in this area.
The technical training will be co-led by GIS experts from Digital Navigators Ltd, Google Earth Outreach, the Firelight Group, LINZ, Kenex and a global network of Indigenous mapping experts.
